About Ms. Nicholson

STELLA M. NICHOLSON, MA, LCPC, CMADC, MAC

Ms. Nicholson is a private practitioner and owner of Stella M. Nichoslon & Associates, Lombard, Illinois where she counsels Adult Children of Alcoholics/Co-dependents, alcoholics/addicts, couples, and specializes in the treatment of families and children. She has worked in the addiction and mental health field since 1978.

In addition to her private practice, Ms. Nicholson has served as a consultant/trainer to numerous treatment facilities, mental health organizations, hospitals, schools and institutions regarding program development and implementation, in-service training, staff development, clinical supervision and aftercare. She formerly was the Aftercare Program Director and marketing representative for Cottonwood de Tucson, de Austin, and de Albuquerque.

Ms. Nicholson has served on the faculty of numerous Universities and colleges such as Felician, North Eastern, Loop, Concordia, Triton and currently is adjunct faculty member to National Louis University. She has lectured and taught on both the local and national levels on various subjects in regards to family of origin issues, chemical dependency, battered women and family violence, children of alcoholics, etc. Her newest publication is entitled “Addictions, Relationships and the 12-Step Connection,” a workbook for recovering couples or individuals.

Ms. Nicholson’s background in Human Services and the addiction field have offered a broad educational experience to her students and workshop participants.
